Horizon students are required to attend four cultural performances each year for a total of sixteen during their four years at Richland Northeast High School. These events are often planned as group activities. Although school- and district-wide activities are excellent, students are encouraged to attend a variety of cultural events sponsored by community organizations. For Horizon students also in PCA, Horizon counts community events attended for PCA. Pageants, beauty contests , and popular music concerts do not count.

There are many activities that are free in the community, and Horizon encourages students to attend these. Each month, a parent volunteer posts information about local performances, speakers, and exhibits, and students may check the venues listed on this page. Students should remember to attend cultural events during holidays and vacations. To receive credit, a student must complete the Cultural Event form, which must be signed by a parent or the adult accompanying the student to the event.

For more information, contact Mr. Eberlin, magnet director.
