Cylindrical neodymium magnets are long, circular magnets that extend beyond their diameter and are typically used in recessed boreholes for clamping applications that require a large magnetic field. We also offer ring magnets. A cylinder neodymium magnet is a type of magnet characterized by its cylindrical shape and made from neodymium, iron, and boron alloy. These magnets are known for their exceptionally strong magnetic properties and are widely used in various applications across industries.
The cylindrical shape allows for uniform distribution of magnetic flux along the axis of the magnet. This makes them particularly useful in applications such as electric motors, sensors, magnetic couplings, and magnetic bearings, where a strong and consistent magnetic field is required.
Neodymium Cylinder Magnets are available in different sizes and dimensions to suit specific application requirements. They can be found in small consumer products like headphones, speakers, and magnetic closures, as well as in larger industrial machinery and equipment.
---Normal Size Range: D (Diameter): 1~180mm, T (Thickness): 0.4~150mm
---Maximum Size: D180 x T60mm, D80 x T150mm
---Minimum Size: D1 x T0.4mm
---Orientation Direction Size: Lower than 80mm
---Tolerance: Generally +/-0.1mm, Particularly +/-0.03mm
Generally, the small axially oriented cylinder (<D10mm) and almost all diametrically oriented cylinders are EDM cut from the big block and then grinded and sliced. The big axially oriented cylinder(>D10mm) can be pressed to shape and then ground and sliced. But sometimes the big axially oriented cylinder should be core-drilled or EDM cut from a block, so as to ensure the magnetic properties especially for high end grades or shorten the lead time. Prior to coating, the small cylinder needs vibration tumbling and the big cylinder needs manual chamfering.
Cylindrical Neodymium Magnet for Magnetic Sensors:
Cylinder Neodymium magnets are used to trigger magnetic sensors in a variety of applications. There are two main styles of magnetic sensors – the reed switch and the Hall Effect. Several parameters must be taken into consideration in order to select the proper magnets:
---Sensor style (Hall Effect or Reed)
---Trigger threshold (Hysteresis)
---Mechanical movement (Magnet relative to the sensor)
---Environmental conditions
---Dimensional requirements
---The proximity of flux biasing alloy
Magnetic sensors are widely used in a variety of consumer products such as printers, scanners, cameras, and flat panels. One of the fastest-growing applications of magnetic sensors is mobile navigation – the electronic compass is a must-have feature in mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Magnetic field sensors are also commonly found in gaming consoles and in many products with smart features.
